SPONY Scores Again at May Pitch-a-thon

Posted in News on May 25, 2007

SPONY scored another hit on May 3 with a full house for its monthly Pitch-a-Thon. The judges were Keith D’Arcy, EMI Music Publishing’s senior vice president for musical resources and development; Alex Shenitsky from Island Records’ a&r department, and Andy (AJ) Gundell, 11-time Emmy Award-winning music supervisor and founder of the Tonic Song Library.

Fifteen songs made it into the “Keeper” category and were chosen for another listen by the panel. To sweeten the pot even further, three writers from the premiere event in April have already entered into deal talks with judges from that Pitch-a-Thon panel.

Confirmed for the judge’s panel in June are David Hoffman from Shapiro, Bernstein & Co., Inc., and David Hnatiuk, an independent music supervisor currently working with several major TV networks on a variety of projects.

SPONY is held the First Thursday of every month in the BMI Media Room.
