Sundance Profile: Peter Golub

Composer: Countdown To Zero, Frozen River, Outrage, The Great Debaters; also Director of the Sundance Composers Lab

The multi-talented Peter Golub combines his interest in traditional and contemporary classical music, jazz and opera with his ongoing preoccupation with drama. With James Newton Howard, he co-composed the music for The Great Debaters; Frozen River, winner of Jury Award for Best Film at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival; HBO’s The Laramie Project; and documentaries Wordplay and I.O.U.S.A. In 2003, Golub’s score for Stolen was named Best Music at the Avignon Film Festival. The recipient of the BMI Classic Contribution Award, he has been the Director of the Sundance Film Music Programsince 1998.
