WIPO Copyright Conference Set For October
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), with the cooperation of the Vanderbilt University and the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), is organizing a conference on issues devoted to collective management of copyright and related rights, to be held in Nashville October 17-19, 2007.
The objectives of the conference are to address important aspects of rights management in the interlinked technological environment, taking stock of recent developments and the challenges raised by digital technology over the years.
The conference aims at gathering all the key players to discuss and analyze the business models designed to fulfill expectations of rights owners, users and the public at large, without impairing collective management systems that offer the best guarantee for the social, cultural and economic interests of creators.
