“Start a Band” co-writer Dallas Davidson greets the crowd gathered at BMI’s Music Row offices to celebrate the song’s chart-topping success. While “Start a Band” marks Davidson’s first no. 1, it’s far from his first hit: He also co-wrote Trace Adkins’ “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” and Brooks & Dunn’s “Put a Girl in It.”
