Arath Herce is a singer-songwriter and producer, originally from Veracruz. Initially discovered during a chance encounter with Mexican actor/composer Leonel García in a restaurant, Herce was recording at Hollywood’s Sage and Sound studio under the production of Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Lady Gaga, James Bay) and Áureo Baqueiro (Natalia Lafourcade, Alejandro Fernández) and shooting music videos directed by multi-GRAMMY-winner Natalia Lafourcade. But behind all that, there are years of solo work and an insatiable passion for the classics. An amazement at the everyday, small things in life permeate Balboa’s songs, which, under a surface of classic rock and folk with roots in the 70s, sound like pages torn from a personal diary. His debut album Balboa (2021) was released the same day as its stripped-down companion album, Balboa Naked (2021), recorded live two years later and filmed at Sony Music Studios.
