Broadcast Music, Inc. and Lucas Richman teamed up again for the 17th Annual Conducting Workshop Series on June 21, 2014. Held on the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA, the series allows eight rising composers to hone their conducting skills and multimeter technique during two weeks of private, multi-session workshops. This year’s class of composers included Chris Bacon, Robert Lydecker, Dino Meneghin, Bryan E. Miller, Lolita Ritmanis, Lee Sanders, Sheridan Tongue and Jeff Toyne, and the series was put together by BMI Los Angeles’ Ray Yee and Philip Shrut. The selected composers honed their skills over two weeks, working on conducting fundamentals, multimeter technique, and culminating with a 32 piece orchestra.
