BMI co-hosted a celebration of CMA New Artist of the Year nominee Thomas Rhett’s platinum-certified #1 single “Get Me Some of That” with a gathering of music industry guests at The Sutler in Nashville September 30, 2014. Written by BMI songwriters Cole Swindell and Rhett Akins with Michael Carter, “Get Me Some of That” is Thomas’ second consecutive chart-topper from his debut album, It Goes Like This. He shared the moment with his father, Rhett Akins, who co-wrote the song and Thomas Rhett’s previous platinum-certified #1 “It Goes Like This,” as well as many other smash hits as a member of the extremely successful songwriting trio, The Peach Pickers.
