On March 19, 2014, Broadcast Music, Inc.’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel Stuart Rosen participated in an enlightening panel discussion regarding recent court decisions on digital rights withdrawal and their impact on songwriters, publishers, performing rights organizations and licensees. In his comments at the Entertainment Law and Technology Conference, held at Greenberg Traurig’s MetLife Building in New York City, Rosen voiced BMI’s ardent support for the new Songwriter Equity Act, which was introduced by House Representative Doug Collins (R-GA). Passage of the bill would serve to create an opportunity for more equitable compensation from our rate court.

The conference, which is presented by the Music Business Association (Music Biz), a non-profit membership organization that advances and promotes music commerce, also featured several other experts from the entertainment law community whose specialties include intellectual property and copyright law.
