July 6, 2010 BMI recently booked a stacked lineup comprising Collective Soul’s Ed Roland, NSAI Songwriter of the Year Wynn Varble, and hit-maker Brandon Kinney for Miss Florida’s Charity Birthday Bash. Held June 24 at the Westgate Resort in Orlando, the BMI-sponsored event drew a crowd of restaurant executives and community leaders, who were treated to an “in-the-round” performance by Nashville troubadours Kinney and Varble, as well as Chris Cavanaugh. Roland headlined the show, performing self-penned chart-toppers “Shine,” “December,” and “World I Know,” among others. All proceeds from the party will be donated to The Hope Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Hands On Nashville. Miss Florida, Rachael Todd, is relocating to Nashville for graduate school and designated Hands On Nashville as a beneficiary due to the recent flooding. Pictured after the event are Wynn Varble, Ed Roland, Miss Florida Rachael Todd, Brandon Kinney and BMI’s Mason Hunter.
