The South Carolina Broadcasters Association (SCBA) enjoyed homegrown BMI talent during the its annual STAR awards, held August 14 in Columbia. Florence, South Carolina native Bridgette Tatum and National Colgate Country Countdown winner Karla Davis wowed listeners: Tatum performed her new single “That’s Love Y’all” as well has her composition “She’s Country,” which Jason Aldean took to #1, while Davis delivered her own original songs, including “Why,” which will be release this fall. Davis originally competed on WRHM-FM in Rock Hill, SC in the Colgate Country Countdown, after which she advanced to win the national competition. The 3 Chord Entertainment artist is working on her debut album, to be released later this year. Coincidentally, SCBA President Jane Pigg is also Davis’s aunt.
