August 20, 2010 BMI offered a Lone Star lineup during the opening reception for the Texas Association of Broadcasters’ (TAB) annual convention in Austin: Rowdy favorite Kevin Fowler and frequent hit-maker George Ducas entertained a 1,200-deep crowd at the Renaissance Arboretum. Loved for his witty songwriting and showmanship, Fowler is a Texas music staple enjoying national breakout success with his hit “Pound Sign.” After releasing his new single “Never Goes Away,” co-written with Randy Rogers, Houston native Ducas is currently touring throughout the state, while he’s also co-written smashes including Sara Evans’ “Real Fine Place to Start,” Eli Young Band’s “Always the Love Songs,” and Randy Foster’s “Just Call Me Lonesome.” Pictured are Matt Martin, Clear Channel San Antonio and TAB Chairman Elect; Ducas; Fowler; Danny Baker of Baker Media and current TAB Chairman; and BMI’s Mason Hunter.
