BMI Hit-maker Troy Jones: Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer (and Writin’ Songs)

October 15, 2010 BMI led the way to Rooster’s in Nashville on Thursday, October 14, where revelers gathered to celebrate the chart-topping success of “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer,” recorded by Billy Currington and written by BMI “fork-lift philosopher” Troy Jones. This isn’t the first time Jones has watched one of his tunes climb to the top: Last year, he and BMI heavy weight Bobby Braddock hit radio gold with their collaboration “People Are Crazy,” also recorded by Currington. Pictured at the party are (l-r): UMG Nashville’s Damon Moberly, producer Carson Chamberlain, songwriter Troy Jones, Billy Currington, BMI’s Jody Williams, Crozier Music’s Keith Crozier, and Carnival Music’s Frank Liddell.
