BMI and SCL Screening of The Ghost Writer Features Alexandre Desplat
BMI and The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) presented a screening of Summit Entertainment’s and producers Alain Sarde’s and Robert Benmussa’s film The Ghost Writer on Thursday, December 2 at the Clarity Theatre in Beverly Hills. The screening was preceded by a Q&A with the film’s composer Alexandre Desplat. Moderated by SCL President Dan Foliart, the discussion delved into Desplat’s experience working with director Roman Polanski and the challenge of incorporating the film’s various themes into his score. Desplat also offered general insight into his extensive career, during which he has composed scores for more than 50 films including Girl with the Pearl Earring, Syriana, The Queen, The Painted Veil, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Julie & Julia.
