May 3, 2011 The Key West Songwriters Festival topped itself this year, offering another round of inspired lineups, relaxed mingling and mixing. On Thursday night, the historic San Carlos Theatre hosted three quintessentially Key West sets: The lineup launched with pop-spiced singer/songwriters Courtney Jaye and Jason White; wry troubadours Robert Earl Keen, Jamey Johnson and Raul Malo inimitably followed; and the World Famous Headliners, comprising Al Anderson, Shawn Camp and Pat McLaughlin, capped off the evening. Presented by BMI, the 16th annual installment of the festival featured top-tier shows Wednesday, April 27 through Sunday, May 1. Pictured at the San Carlos Thursday night show are BMI’s Mark Mason and Tom Annastas, Raul Malo, Robert Earl Keen, BMI’s Clay Bradley, The Key West Songwriters Festival director Charlie Bauer and Jamey Johnson.
