October 19, 2011 BMI held a Latin-infused edition of its acclaimed “How I Wrote That Song” panel on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Beverly Hills Gibson Showroom. The timely event took place just days before the inaugural Billboard Mexican Music Awards, slated for October 27. Chart-topping songwriters Horacio Palencia, Benny Camacho, Oscar Ivan Treviño, and Pepe Garza participated in a discussion moderated by BMI’s Delia Orjuela, canvassing the life of a songwriter, from creating career longevity and current chart action, to the art of collaboration and the evolution of artistic influences.
