Pitbull Picks Up 2012 BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year Crystal
Pitbull was unable to attend the 2012 BMI Pop Awards in May, so BMI brought the Pop Awards to him. BMI’s Barbara Cane and Delia Orjuela presented the coveted Pop Songwriter of the Year crystal to Pitbull, who earned the top pop honor thanks to co-writing five of the most-performed pop songs of the year: “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love,” “Give Me Everything,” “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor),” “I Like It,” and “On the Floor.” Earlier this year, Pitbull received the BMI President’s Award at the BMI Latin Awards.
