BMI kicked off its annual Road to Bonnaroo competition at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge Monday night, with eight bands vying for a spot at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. With solid performances by The Young International, Sol Cat, Grass Root Kids, Linear Downfall, Alanna Royale, Magnolia Songs, Schools and Dylan McDonald and the Avians, the competition was stiff, but Alanna Royale emerged victorious, securing a coveted spot at the festival in June. Pictured are BMI’s Clay Bradley, Mercy Lounge owner Todd Ohlhauser, Alanna Royale’s Matt Snow and Alanna Quinn-Broadus, and BMI’s Mark Mason.
