BMI Co-Sponsors Gibson Guitartown Art Sculpture for Rock Band, LOVE

July 23, 2013 BMI Co-Sponsors Gibson Guitartown Art Sculpture for Rock Band LOVE Broadcast Music, Inc. was on hand at the third installment of the Gibson Guitartown art sculptures’ unveiling on Wednesday, July 17. The special VIP reception took place at the Hornburg Land Rover store along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. Guests were the first to preview the 10-foot-tall guitar art sculptures, which celebrate artists and musicians who have influenced the Sunset Strip, before they are strategically placed along Sunset Boulevard for public viewing. The selection included works celebrating 2013 Sunset Strip Music Festival (SSMF) honoree Joan Jett, Janis Joplin, LOVE, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper and Debbie Harry. Additional sculptures honored Dolly Parton, Alanis Morissette and Linkin Park. BMI co-sponsored the guitar sculpture inspired by the 1960s rock band, LOVE, by the artist, The Wizard. The guitar is named "Forever Changes" in honor of LOVE's classic album. Guitartown is a project of the Gibson Foundation, which supports music and the arts.
