BMI Travels to Puerto Rico to Conduct Licensing Seminar
BMI sponsored a music licensing seminar and luncheon on July 31 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for members of the Puerto Rico Radio Broadcasters Association (PRBA) that featured a presentation by Bill Velez, Executive Director of the Radio Music License Committee, the entity that negotiates licenses with BMI on behalf of the radio industry. The seminar focused on the current license agreements, which are based on a percentage of revenue formula, as well as the history of negotiations and the transition away from a fixed fee model.
