October 1, 2013 'Composing for the Screen' Film Scoring Mentorship Program
Broadcast Music, Inc. Vice President, Film/TV Relations Doreen Ringer-Ross recently visited BMI’s New York office in support of the 2013 “Composing for the Screen” film scoring mentorship program, directed by BMI composer Rick Baitz. This annual seminar provides an opportunity for nine emerging film composers to participate in a high-level workshop where film music is examined from many perspectives, including historical, psychological, dramatic, stylistic and more. Ringer-Ross joined one of the six sessions held at the BMI Media Room and had the opportunity to interact with the composers selected to participate in this year's program. Pictured at the 2013 "Composing for the Screen" film scoring mentorship program are (back row, L-R): Ethan Foote, Roman Korotin, BMI’s Maggie Ortiz, BMI’s Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI composer Rick Baitz, Scott Hampton and Garrett Gonzales. Front row, L-R, are: Ayko Higuchi, Douglas Gibson, Tim Beck, Dimitris Dodoras and Danielle Schwob.
