Composer Forrest Gray received the 2013 BMI Film Scoring Scholarship at Broadcast Music, Inc.'s annual BMI Day at Berklee College of Music in Boston. The scholarship was presented on November 4 by George S. Clinton, who was recently named the chair of Berklee’s film scoring department, James Newton Howard and BMI Vice President of Film/TV Relations, Doreen Ringer-Ross. The BMI Film Scoring Scholarship is a yearly tuition scholarship awarded on the basis of compositional maturity and talent, as well as financial need. Each year, the scholarship is given in the name of a noted BMI composer. Howard, this year's honored composer, taught a master class on film scoring as part of the ceremony.
