BMI Songwriting Team at SCL Screening of ‘Frozen’
The Broadcast Music, Inc.-affiliated husband-and-wife songwriting team of Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez recently attended the Walt Disney screening of Frozen on November 18 at the Walt Disney studios in Burbank, California. Immediately following the screening, both participated in a Q&A moderated by Adryan Russ, Society of Lyricists & Composers (SCL) board member. The Lopezes, who met during the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, elaborated on their songwriting process for the film and the dynamics of co-writing with a spouse. Frozen has made Walt Disney animated history with its very first female co-director, Jennifer Lee, while also breaking box office records. The film is extra special for the Lopez family because daughter Katie voiced the young Princess Anna character and youngest daughter Annie voiced the baby troll.
