BMI CEO Outlines to Congress Needed Changes for Songwriters, Composers and Publishers

BMI’s Michael O’Neill (left) caught up with Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA) (right) following the hearing. Congressman Collins introduced the Songwriter Equity Act (H.R. 4079) on February 25, 2014, which would change copyright law to remove evidentiary barriers that are standing in the way of fair royalty payments to songwriters.
