Media Alert

WHO: Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), the global leader in music rights management, will present the inaugural Association of Music Producers (AMP) Awards, which serves to honor the brands and music creators whose sonic achievements - in song, original score and sound design - have left an indelible mark on our consciousness.

The Awards, held during NYC’s “Creative Week” - where advertising, design, and digital media collide with the arts – will include live performances from Caveman and Quadron, with DJ sets from French Horn Rebellion and Savoir Adore.

In addition to the award presentations, the event will feature a BMI-branded V.I.P. Lounge where attendees can network, enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres and an open bar.

WHAT: The AMP Awards will feature a bevy of advertising, marketing, branding and media professionals, and music creators.

BMI film/TV composer Rick Baitz will present the awards for Best Use of Music for a Film or Game Promo / Trailer, Best Use of Music / Sound for Web or Interactive Branding and Outstanding Mix (broadcast commercial).

Rick, who also leads BMI’s film scoring workshop, “Composing for the Screen,” has crafted music for such films as Who Cares About Kelsey (premiered at the 2012 Woodstock Film Festival); HBO’s The Vagina Monologues and Life Afterlife; the award-winning PBS documentary Body & Soul: Diana & Kathy and the Sundance-honored The Education of Shelby Knox.

WHY: BMI has partnered with the Association of Music Producers to present the AMP Awards due to a shared commitment for highlighting the importance of sound in broadcast communication. The Awards align with BMI’s mission of valuing music and managing the rights associated with it wherever music is played.

BMI recently launched a new corporate positioning campaign focused on its leadership, heritage and innovation within the music industry.

The creative elements of the campaign feature a refreshed logo and slogans including “Valuing Music Since 1939,” which will be on display in the BMI-branded V.I.P. Lounge at the Awards. For more information on the campaign, visit BMI.com.
